In a significant boost to agricultural extension services, the Amolatar District Production Department has proudly acquired two brand new motorcycles, each valued at Shs 12 million.
This strategic purchase aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of agricultural extension workers in reaching local farmers, ultimately improving service delivery across the district.
Mr. Geoffrey Vuciri, the District Deputy Chief Administrative Officer (DCAO), highlighted the importance of responsible usage of these motorcycles.
He asked all extension workers to utilise this new equipment not just for transportation, but as a vital tool for increasing agricultural productivity throughout Amolatar.
Francis Ojok, the District Production and Marketing Officer, confirmed that the department allocated a total of Shs 32 million for the acquisition of the two motorcycles alongside a boat engine.
Ojok expressed optimism that these additions will significantly enhance the reach and impact of extension services, ensuring that farmers benefit from timely advice and support.
This initiative is part of a broader strategy by the district to invest in essential infrastructure and logistics that facilitate agricultural development and promote rural mobility.
By strengthening the capabilities of its agricultural extension workers, Amolatar District is taking a proactive step towards sustainable agricultural growth and improved livelihoods for its farming community.
