Leaders in Angagura, Rwot Acana Holds Consultative Meeting Over Land Issue

The Chief of Ker Kwaro Acholi Rwot Onen David Acana II who doubles as Head of Payira clan in Pader district on Monday the 8^th April 2024 resolved in a meeting with community not to give Acholi Ranch land to Pura Organic Agrotech Limited which was leased by the district at a cost of Shs 365million for five years in December 2023.

Mr Dickson Ojok, the Angagura sub county councilor V narrated that the meeting resolved that the district should engage local communities first with prior solutions to the affected people including settlement, among others otherwise; no land will be given to Pura organic Agrotech Limited.

However, Col (Rtd) Fearless Obwoya Oyat, the Pader district chairperson when contacted on phone about the involvement of the district in the community meeting explained that he was not aware and informed about it.
