The Pader district acting education officer Ms Alanyo Margret has threatened to quit her office job after a story done and ran by Rapa FM radio where teachers alleged that her office misappropriated subsidies meant for 25 learners within the district.

On 24th April 2024, the head teachers accused the district education department saying it misappropriated the subsidies from the Ministry of Education and Sports with funding from the Global Fund.

According to one of the teachers who preferred over reprimand by his supervisor, a team from the education department went to deliver school subsidies consisting of only 5 pens, 4 pencils 4 counter books were delivered instead of 19 sanitary pads, 31 pens, 31 pencils, and 9 counter books as indicated on the delivery note.

However, responding to the accusations, Ms Alanyo Margret, the Pader District acting Education Officer did not explain the disparities, but refuted the claims threatening that the journalists are sabotaging her job saying that other matters will be handled administratively.
