Six arrested during UPDF recruitment in Lira city

The UPDF officials cross checks academic credential of applicants during the recruitment exercise at Akibua stadium.

The UPDF national recruitment team has reported that six shortlisted applicants were arrested during the recruitment exercise at Akibua stadium in Lira city on Sunday, 7th July 2024.

Captain Kato Ahmad Hassan, UPDF 4th Infantry Division PIO/spokesperson for team six, confirmed their arrest without disclosing details, stating they were handed over to Lira Central Police Station for further investigations.

The applicants were arrested during the vetting process for presenting counterfeit Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and fake National Identification Cards.

Captain Kato appeals to leaders in the remaining districts to organise and prepare their candidates ahead of time to meet their quotas. The recruitment exercise ends on July 14th.
