Journalists Oriented On Ebola Reporting

A total of Thirty Journalists have been orientated on how to report on epidemics including the Ebola.

A one-day workshop that kicked off on Tuesday at Lake View Resort Hotel, Mbarara City attracted journalists from different media houses based in Ankore Region.

The orientation meeting was organised by the Ministry Of Health Supported by World Health Organization and UNICEF and facilitated by African Centre For Media Excellence (ACME).

During the orientation, journalists were given updates on the Sudanese Ebola Virus Disease outbreak and strategies that the government is using to tame the epidemic.

The Senior Public Relations Officer of the Health Ministry, Emmanuel Ainebyoona, said eight regional meetings will be held with about 30 participants in each to discuss the same issues.

Ainebyoona commended journalist’s role on Reporting about the epidemics and thus rallied them to desist from myth and misconception of information regarding  Ebola Virus Disease.

As of Tuesday; November 8, the number of confirmed patient cases had risen to 136, with a total of 53 deaths and 62 recoveries.
