Deputy speaker, works Minister launch construction of Mitooma -Bushenyi road

The government of Uganda through the Ministry of works and transport has kick-started the construction of a 47km road of Kizinda-Rutookye, Biteereko-Rwempungu and Rutookye-Kisizi-Kiyanga road that connects the two districts of Bushenyi and Mitooma.

During the groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, the deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa, said that will be constructed at a tune of 2.6billion shillings will improve transport and facilitate trade between the two districts.

State Minister for works Musa Ecweru, said he has been receiving calls from area Mps about the state of the road and implored the contractors to do a better job since the road is key to the development of the two districts.

He called upon the residents to use the opportunity of the road to increase their household income through Agriculture.

Bushenyi district woman MP Annet Katusiime Mugisha warned the contractors of shoddy work and appealed to the contractors to consider giving jobs to the nearby local residents in the course of construction.
