On May 14, 2025, the residents of Epyel community in Amolatar town council gathered to express their deep gratitude to Col. Dr. John Francis Ongia for his invaluable efforts in repairing two broken boreholes.

The repairs, which took place at Corner Sweetheart and near Abu Jokers’ place, have significantly improved the accessibility of clean water for local families.

During the appreciation event, Mr. Okao Stephen Makula, the local council chairperson, took a moment to commend Col. Ongia’s ongoing benevolence, noting that his commitment to community welfare predated his parliamentary candidacy. “We should support individuals like Col. Ongia,” Makula urged. “He has already begun making a difference in our lives. Let us elect leaders who prioritize our needs.”

In Awigweng village, Agwingiri Sub County, the mood was equally celebratory as local council chairperson Mr. Ojok Walter conveyed his gratitude for the repair of another borehole that had been out of service for six long years. “This improvement will lighten the burden for our wives and children,” Walter emphasized, highlighting the struggle many faced in their quest for clean water.

Mothers in the community shared their heartfelt stories about the challenges they encountered while fetching water during those years of scarcity. Their voices echoed with joy and relief as they pledged their votes to Col. Ongia, ensuring that his valuable assistance would continue. “We’ve waited too long for this change,” one mother remarked, her eyes glistening with hope. “Now that we have Col. Ongia supporting us, we feel empowered to advocate for our needs.”
