MP Dr. Emely donates shs12M to Mitujju primary school in Nyamarwa Sub County

Buyanja East Member of Parliament, Dr Emely Kugonza has donated 12 million shillings’ cash towards the completion of ongoing renovation of a 3-classroom block and completion of another 3- classroom block that has been under construction at Mitujju primary school.

The block was last year affected by strong winds that blew off the rooftop of the school a government aided in Nyamarwa Sub County, Kibaale district.

Immediately, political leaders together with concerned people organized a fundraising drive towards the re-construction of the affected school structure that was spearheaded by area MP Dr Emely and some funds were raised and that the drafted budget was over 11 million shillings.

In another donation today, during an urgent parents meeting held at the school, the head teacher Hannington Ngonzi says the block is at final stages of complete and that other funds will be used on the second block.

Addressing the parents, Dr Emely says he wrote a request to his friends in Germany for the support towards the rehabilitation of the block and luck enough they accepted and sent 12 million shillings for the purpose of overcoming the challenge.

Dr Emely notes that although the lobbied funds were meant to rehabilitate the destroyed block but by now it has been already roofed remaining few works and advised to also rehabilitate another 3-classroom block which is currently in a sole state calling for proper utilization of the funds urging parents to invest in children education.

Concerned stakeholders including Rev Fr Emmanuel Alinaitwe the parish priest of Mitujju catholic parish, Betty Namatovu the district councilor of Nyamarwa Sub county among others have hailed Dr Emely for working hard to overcome the challenges of poor school structures at the school.
