PM Robinah Nabbanja hands over 5 tractors to churches and mosque in Kakumiro

The Prime Minister of Uganda Robinah Nabbanja has handed over 5 tractors received from the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry to 4 churches and 1 mosque purposely to be utilized by women to improve on their agricultural productivity in Kakumiro District.

Nabbanja made the handover at the Belated International Women’s day for Kakumiro District which was held at Kasambya Sub County Headquarters in Kakumiro District on Friday.

The benefited communities include Kasambya Catholic Parish in Kasambya Sub County, Kisiita Church of Uganda in Kisiita Town Council, Mpasaana Catholic Parish in Mpasaana Town council, Kikoora Mosque in Kikoora Sub County and Nalweyo Catholic Parish in Nalweyo Town Council all in Kakumiro district. Handing over the tractors which was witnessed by the Ministers, Members of Parliament and other leaders, the Prime Minister Nabbaja urged beneficiaries to utilize the given machines for improved agricultural productivity in the district.

At the same function, Andrew Byakutaaga the Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom Prime Minister urged women and the general public to embark on growing coffee to sustain both national and international markets and for improved household income.

Meanwhile, Hajjati Fariday Kibowa, the Chairperson National Womens Council emphasized women to support the girl child education for them to become responsible and prominent people in the country.

The function was attended by different prominent figures including Ministers, Members of Parliament including Noeline Kisembo Basemra MP Kibaale District and Dr. Emely Kugonza MP Buyanja East, RDCs, District Chairpersons, District Councilors, among others was still ongoing.
