Kotido gets new District Service Commission

Members of the newly approved Kotido district service commission have assumed office after being sworn in, with a stern warning for them to desist from corruption tendencies.

The five members, took the official Oath, Oath of allegiance, and Oath of secrecy on Wednesday at the office of the chief administrative Officer in a function officiated by the Kotido chief magistrate, her worship Eunice Akullo

The members include Paul Darlington Lomanio as the chairperson of the commission with Rt Rev James Nasak, Dr Panvuga Pascal Alokore, Achayo Mary Lakot and Achi Sunday Betty as members.
In her remarks Akullo challenged the service Commission members to stick to the Oaths they made and follow the law while executing their duties.
Oola Donato Olam the Kotido Chief administrative officer explained that the district has been without a district service commission for over two years and the immediate task for the commission was to fill in the existing gaps at the district.
Paul Komol Lotee the Kotido district chairperson advised the commission members to recruit qualified and competent staff who will stir service delivery to the people of Kotido and Uganda as a whole.

The newly sworn in Service commission Chairperson, Paul Darlington Lomanio on behalf of the Commission pledged to work diligently and independently as stipulated in the Laws and Oaths taken.

John Magezi the Kotido Deputy Resident District Commissioner, advised the commission to avoid corruption tendencies and conduct recruitment based on individual qualifications and experience.

According to the Local Government Act, the district service commission is charged with the duty of recruiting, Promoting and disciplining staff.
