On Tuesday, the Minister of Education and Sports released the Senior Four 2024 academic year results for students who sat for both the new and old curriculums. Schools in Kotido have reportedly excelled, with the most exciting results in the region’s history.

At Kotido Secondary School, Paul Kibuuka, the school DOS, confirmed that out of a total of 264 registered students, across both the new and old curriculums, all qualified for certification or promotion to A-level, achieving a 100% pass rate – the first in the school’s history.

He further noted that of the 191 students who sat the new curriculum exams, all passed with grades A to D, while the 73 students who sat for the old curriculum exams all passed in Division I-4.

Simon Achuma, the Director of Studies at Panyangara Secondary School, said that all of the students they registered passed with grades A to C, and only one student passed with a grade D.

At Nakapelimoru Army Secondary School, Amos Kule, the Director of Studies, stated that out of the 63 candidates who sat the exams, all passed and qualified to join A-level.

The school administration has attributed the excellent performance to the high level of commitment from the teachers, students, and parents, all of whom worked together to promote quality and practical education that addresses community challenges.

Under the new curriculum, candidates are assessed using letter grades (A to E) rather than divisions. The new system categorises performance into five achievement levels: A (Exceptional), B (Outstanding), C (Satisfactory), D (Basic), and E (Elementary), the lowest grade, indicating difficulty in applying knowledge effectively.
