Kotido Municipality authorities have stated that they have received 40 tablets and power banks to improve the performance, disbursement, and monitoring of the Parish Development Model (PDM) programme.
The development was revealed by Kotido Municipal Deputy Town Clerk, Christopher Lotuk, who confirmed that the 40 devices were handed over to 19 SACCO leaders and 19 principal town agents, accounting for 38 gadgets, while the IT officer and the Municipal Planner each received one of the remaining two devices.
Lotuk stated that the tablets are intended to enhance the PDM’s performance through monitoring, data collection, processing of loan application forms, research, and documentation of success stories in the parishes, thereby enabling easy tracking of the PDM’s implementation and progress within the municipality.
Lotuk further cautioned the SACCO leaders and principal town agents against misusing the devices.
In a related development, Emmanuel Okaja, the Town Clerk of Kotido Municipal Council, also confirmed that the Ministry of Finance, on 5th February 2025, released 950 million shillings intended for the PDM to the 19 SACCO groups in Kotido Municipal Council.
Okaja further revealed that Kotido Municipality has disbursed 100% of the PDM funds for the financial year 2024/2025 and will now immediately begin identifying the new beneficiaries for the recent release.
