Over 700 students in Moroto commissioned into patriotism cadreship

The Commissioner for the National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC) in Uganda Hellen Seku, has commissioned 737 patriots in Moroto District, with a call on them to become agents of socio-economic transformation in their communities.

The students from various secondary schools in Moroto were commissioned on Monday, April 27, 2026 at Moroto Boma Grounds after successfully undergoing a one week-training.

The training covered topics, including promoting positive mindset towards national service, discipline, responsibility, loyalty, honest, hard work, respect for national symbols, crime detection, personal protection, and financial literacy among others.

Addressing the patriots, Seku challenged them to have positive mindset and become agents of socio-economic transformation.

She emphasized the importance of discipline and fear of God, noting that these values would help them opportunities that government has created for socio-economic development.

Seku also cautioned them against HIV/AIDs, which she described as a deadly killer.

Speaking on behalf of the patriots, Abubakar Lokwang credited the Ministry of Education and Sports for extending patriotism programs to schools in the Karamoja Sub-region, which has equipped them with skills and knowledge in constitutionalism among others.

In his remarks, Mark Aol Musoka, the assistant RDC Moroto district commended the patriots for their endurance exhibited during a one-week drill and urged them to led an exemplary life.
