The chief administrative officer Kotido Donato Oola has instructed the Kotido district engineer to retrieve one of the district cars purportedly in custody of the Jie County Mp Peter Abrahams Lokii.
The directive follows allegations on different social media platforms that the MP has been using the vehicle registration number UBH 262T to carry out his personal operations rather than the district operations.
The vehicle was reportedly donated by CARE international to Kotido district local government to support agricultural based activities under the production department.
Speaking to our reporter in his office on Tuesday Oola confirmed receiving the complaint further explaining that he has since instructed the district Engineer to ensure that the vehicle is recovered and parked at the district yard.
Late last year the Kotido district council resolved to have all cars parked at the district parking yard, beyond working hours, weekend and when not on official duty.
The move was reportedly meant to regulate the movement of district vehicles which according to the district councilors is for purposes of fleet management.
During the full council sitting the Kotido district speaker Emmanuel Lodio claimed that a number of district vehicles were being mishandled especially by the heads of department, plunging the district into losses.
Our attempts to reach Hon Lokii were fruitless since his known phone numbers were not reachable at the time of filing this story.
