The LCIII Chairperson of Lolelia South Sub-county, Koom John Bosco has raised concern over what he described as the continued interference by some security officers and politicians who allegedly protect suspected criminals and cattle raiders.
Speaking during a joint peace dialogue organized by PAG–Karamoja Pastorate Social Development Services in Lolelia South Sub-county, the chairperson said some suspects are often released back into communities instead of being prosecuted in courts of law. He noted that such actions undermine efforts to restore lasting peace and contribute to the recurring cycle of raids and insecurity in the region.

In a related development, the Regional Community Liaison Officer for Kidepo Region, ASP Narusha Kalisto, urged youths who are still in possession of illegal firearms to voluntarily surrender them while the Presidential Amnesty remains in force.
According to ASP Narusha, those who hand over their weapons stand a chance to benefit from government livelihood and development programs aimed at improving their welfare and supporting peaceful coexistence.
