Kotido district authorities have resolved to temporarily move staff from selected lower health units to cover up existing gaps at the general hospital.

This follows an outcry from hospital authorities about the huge staffing gap the hospital is currently experiencing.

Since its upgrade, in July 2021, the hospital has continued to operate with the same number of staff at 45, compared to the standard required number of 190

Speaking during the handover of the site for construction of the administration block at the hospital recently, the hospital in charge Dr Gabriel Acheboi  said one of the major issues affecting the hospital is the issue of human resource, saying its hindering service delivery, adding that other issues include lack  of radiology department, orthopedic department among others.
