Kotido schools register low turn up of pupils on first days of schools reopening

Several schools in Kotido municipality and district registered a very low turn up of learners as schools reopened for the first days of the week.

A- Mini survey conducted by our reporter shows that most schools were having no leaners most especially in the rural schools while the urban schools had a few learners reporting.

Lomukura primary school for instance registered 222 learners on day one, Kotido Girls primary school had 105 learners, Nakapelimoru primary school had 480 learners, Kotido Army primary school had 18 while Bethesda nursery and primary school registered 52 leaners.

George Odongo the head teacher of Lomukura primary school, Andrew Ben Amone the head teacher Nakapelimoru primary school told our reporter that the lessons have kicked off and teachers are already back at school.

Jimmy Mathew Ochen the head teacher Kotido Girls, Robinson Opio the head teacher Kotido army and Susan Amwa the deputy head teacher of Bethesda nursery and primary school sad that they are optimistic that the children will turn up soon. They however appealed to the parents to send more children to school.
