The Kotido SS administration has suspended eight of its students after they were found to be pregnant following a routine test carried out at the school.

The revelation was made by the Kotido district deputy RDC John Mageezi Lukooki in an exclusive interview with our reporter in his office. The students were reportedly suspended on Monday this week.

According to Mageezi, the girls who are majorly in O-level tested positive after the school administration subjected them to a routine mandatory pregnancy test.

Mageezi says that the results of the tests then prompted the school disciplinary committee to suspend the girls from school for fear of influencing other students.

He explained that those in candidate classes will be allowed to sit their exams but worries that those in the lower classes will be affected as the current curriculum is all about continued assessment.

Mageezi however, warns students against such reckless behaviours which will put their future in jeopardy.

The suspension comes just days after the school administration and the office of the RDC resolved to deploy security personnel along the Longiro river to curb unnecessary movement of students out of school.

Our attempts to get a comment from the school administrators about the suspended students were fruitless.
