Shock as a 73 year old man collapses dead at Kotido roundabout

The police in Kotido are investigating the circumstances under which a 73-year-old man, identified as John Okwii, collapsed and died instantly at Kotido roundabout in Kotido municipality on Tuesday mid-morning.

Mzee Okwii, a native of Abim district, had been a resident of Acholi Inn Ward in Kotido municipality. He reportedly left his house in the morning to go to town and decided to rest on a verandah near the roundabout.

He was later discovered dead by salon operators in the building where he had sought shelter.

Joyce Akech, the LCI chairperson of Acholi Inn, expressed shock at Okwii’s sudden passing, noting that he had shown no signs of illness in the morning.

By the time of filing this story, the deceased’s body was still at Kotido General Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem and the arrival of relatives.
