A sigh of relief swept through pupils and teachers of Kabbani Primary School in Ruyonza County, Kyegegwa District, as district officials commissioned a two-classroom block after 33 years.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Tuesday, 7 April 2026, was led by the District Chairperson, John Kisoke Byamukama, and attended by other political leaders at various levels, alongside technical staff.

Mwesige Hussein, the District Education Officer for Kyegegwa, outlined the project scope, which was contracted to Skymax Services Ltd at a cost of UGX 108 million under the Special Schools Facility Grant.
He also revealed that the project included the procurement of 36 desks, two tables, and a 5,000-litre water tank.
Mwesige, who expressed optimism that the new structures will help reduce the burden of overcrowding among learners, also urged all stakeholders to safeguard the facility diligently.
Presiding as the chief guest, John Kisoke Byamukama urged parents to educate their children in schools they can afford.
He also challenged school administrators to revive the practice of school gardening and handicrafts, noting that during his ten-year tenure, at least 70 of the 72 government schools in Kyegegwa District have benefited from various projects.
Talemwa Michael, the school headteacher, who began his tenure in 1939, applauded the government for its support and promised to improve academic standards, adding that the school currently has an enrolment of over 700 learners.
