The Bishop of East Rwenzori Diocese Rt. Rev. George Turyasingura extended a call for cooperation among married couples through sharing family responsibilities, urging that lack of it has fueled domestic violence.
Bishop Turyasingura was preaching on Friday July 24, 2026, during his pastoral visit at St. Luke Nyabirungi Church of Uganda Parish in Bwizi Archdeaconry East Ruwenzori Diocese. The mass was held collectively with thanksgiving of Rev. Nuwamanya Partrick the parish priest at St. Luke Nyabirungi Church of Uganda Parish, and Ahimbisibwe Barbra, a renowned journalist attached to Nyumbani FM radio in Kamwenge district.
In his message to Christians, Bishop Turyasingura said that it is vital for every family member to know their responsibility, urging that well families raise moral children who will in future become responsible citizens.
The Bishop called on couples to be honest to their partners, especially in finances, where he noted that family resources can be properly planed for only if the spouses are cooperative in money matters. Bishop Turyasingura also warned against tribalism, which he said if the great threat to development.

About Shillings 1.2million were raised in the thanksgiving, while over 50 people received a Holly Sacrament of confirmation. These include Mr. Kaguruka Francis, who expressed gratitude following his confirmation at the age of 84.

Rev. Nuwamanya thanked the Prelate for the visit, and urged Christians to commit themselves by serving God through prayer and thanksgiving.
