Residents of Kisojo sub county in Kyenjojo district have expressed dissatisfaction over a poor state of the recently rehabilitated Kanyamuningi road, blaming leaders for what they described as carelessness, particularly on projects implemented by the sub county.
The road in question, connects villages of Ishoroma and Sigosire in Kisojo parish through Ahamuruka to Kanyamuningi. Angry residents together with bodaboda riders, said the road was rehabilitated one week ago, but the condition on it is currently worse than it was before construction works.
In an interview with reporters on Wednesday July 1, 2026, residents said that shoddy work is evident on the road, with no proper drainage channels, which has cause rainwater to erode and damage the road within a short time.

The residents have appealed to the department of works at the district to intervene, and called for the contractor to be held accountable for the poor-quality work.

Some local leaders who requested anonymity, said they were not informed about the construction project, and were not involved in monitoring its implementation. They called for greater transparency in government-funded projects.
During a phone interview with our reporter, Mr Byamukama Sadam the LC3 chairperson for Kisojo sub county urged residents to remain calm, as he plans to conduct an inspection on the road to find out what can be done.
