Health workers at Bwizi Health Centre III in Kibale East Constituency, Kamwenge District, are under scrutiny over alleged negligence of duty following a miscarriage involving an expectant mother.
Bwizi health center three was recently elevated from Hc2 status to ensure quality health care through integrated support supervision, however, concerns have been raising from community members about a number of issues affecting service delivery at the facility, ranging from poor sanitation, to mistreatment of patients by the hospital staff.
The outrage came to light after Mrs. Kirabo Agnes, a resident of Biguli sub county, reported to the health facility at around 7:00am on Monday June 29, 2026, seeking antenatal care. Kirabo alleges that at the time she reached the facility, there was no any medical personnel to attend to her until she gave birth in the hospital toilet.
In excessive pain and struggle for survival, she said that nearby residents tried to contact the doctor in charge of the maternity ward but all in vain. The newborn died in the process.

Following the incident, Tumuhimbise Godwin, the District Male Councillor representing Bwizi sub-county, rushed to the facility.
He reported the matter to the district authorities, calling for a firm action against what he described as irresponsible health workers, who have made it a habit to report late for work, and neglect of duty.
