Owobusobozi Bisaka, the founder of the Faith of Unity, received the Global Peace and Unity Recognition Award from the Canada NRM Chapter on Monday, 22 June 2026, at the headquarters of the Faith of Unity in Kapyemi, barely a week after celebrating his 97th birthday, which was marked on 11 June 2026.
The recognition is partly based on the work of Owobusobozi Bisaka since 22 February 1980, when he founded the Faith of Unity, known for its unique approach to healing bodily and spiritual ailments.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka upon receiving a prestigious global award in recognition of His outstanding contributions to the promotion of peace, unity, social harmony and human development,” the award, presented by the East Africa Coordinator of the Canada NRM Chapter, Mr Stephen Bisoboka Pius, reads in part.

Mr Bisoboka further applauded Owobusobozi Bisaka for his dedicated service and leadership, aimed at fostering peaceful coexistence among people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and beliefs.
In his message, Owobusobozi Bisaka thanked the Canada NRM Chapter for the recognition. He said the award serves as confirmation to all believers of the Faith of Unity who have continued to embrace the values of hard work, unity, and economic transformation.
Owobusobozi Bisaka has consistently emphasised oneness, hard work and forgiveness, while also encouraging his followers to remain loyal to the NRM government led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
The function was also attended by various dignitaries, including Kagadi District Woman Member of Parliament, Ms Margaret Naziwa Lujumba, who lauded Owobusobozi Bisaka for consistently preaching messages that promote unity, hard work and social transformation among his followers, and pledged her continued support to the Faith of Unity.
