Rwakyakibunya Sacco extends financial services to Biguli town council Kamwenge district

Rwakyakibunya Sacco has launched a new branch in Buguli town council Kamwenge district with an aim to extend financial services across Rwenzori region, and Uganda in particular.

Buguli branch of Rwakyakibunya Sacco, second in Kamwenge district, was launched on Saturday 27 June, 2026, in a mega function held at Omuka owawe resort in Buguli town council Kamwenge district, which attracted members of the community, religious and political leaders in different capacities.

The Sacco has now got Six branches across the country, with the main branch located in Kibito -Bunyangabu district. Others include Rwimi branch in Rwimi town council Bunyangabu district, and Kahungye branch in Kahungye town council Kamwenge district.

According to Mr. Nicholas Amanyire, the general manager Rwakyakibunya Sacco, the institution has 25 years in existence and has succeeded in promoting financial literacy among community members, particularly local people, whom he says have been reluctant in embracing saving culture.

Mr. Emmanuel Arinaite, the Sacco board chairperson, said they have registered a positive response from residents, noting that about One hundred new members have been registered since Rwakyakibunya Sacco extended its services in Biguli town council, two months ago.

Mr. Arinaite said the launch is a major milestone that announces their Sixth branch in a move to fight poverty among local individuals and institutions in Rwenzori region by providing financial support through saving, community sensitization, and offering different loans at the most affordable interest rates.

Mr. Odeck Jimmy Mulokore, the Mayor Biguli town council, was among leaders who proudly welcomed Rwakyakibunya Sacco services in the area. Mr. Molokore, called it a relief to the people of Biguli town council, adding that access to financial services is vital for any the region to development.
