Staff of dfcu Bank Pader Branch on Sunday, 28 September 2025, led prayers at Blessed Daudi Okello and Jildo Irwa Catholic Parish in Pader Town Council, in what the institution described as a gesture of appreciation to the community for its long-standing support.
Speaking after the service, the branch manager, Mr Ogeatum Julius Olyech, commended his team for their active role in community service and reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to remaining a partner in local development.
“This was a way of saying thank you to the Catholic faithful and to the wider Pader community for standing with dfcu over the years. Many banks have come and gone, but we remain here because of the community’s trust and support,” Ogeatum said.
He noted that dfcu has worked closely with communities to support various government initiatives such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP) and Emyooga, which he described as vital drivers of grassroots empowerment.
The manager further revealed that dfcu is preparing to lead a similar service at the Anglican Church in Pader as a sign of unity and coexistence.
Looking ahead, Ogeatum disclosed that the bank will soon roll out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, including a tree-planting project planned for late October or November, aimed at contributing to environmental conservation.
“As a corporate institution, it is very important to mingle and coexist with the people around you if you want to remain relevant in the community. We are here, and we are not going anywhere,” he stressed.
The event underscored dfcu’s ongoing efforts to position itself not merely as a financial institution, but as a long-term community partner in both spiritual and socio-economic development.
