Over 600 pupils of Anepmoroto primary school in Orum Sub County, Otuke district are now studying under trees after wind blew off the roofs of P.1, P.2 and P.3 classrooms last Saturday.

Anepmoroto primary school has the highest population of learners in Otuke district with a total enrollment of 1,370 pupils.

Orum Sub County LC3 chairman Bosco Okullo said the 600 affected pupils are now studying under trees since the available classrooms are not adequate enough to accommodate them.

He asked Otuke district and office of the prime minister to come to their rescue since the school currently lacks funds to rehabilitate the affected buildings.

Otuke district LCV chairman Francis Abola said he had not yet been informed about the incident by press time but promised to follow it up.

Otuke East County MP, Julius Achon said he will table the matter on the floor of parliament for action from government.
