Police in Dokolo district have arrested the chairperson of Agwata child development center, a local Community Based Organization advocating for children’s rights on allegation of defiling and impregnating 16 year old minor.

In August last year, it was reported that the suspect, John Odongo had defiled the minor but fled after police had launched a search for him.

Dokolo District Police Commander Patience Baganzi said Odongo was finally arrested on Tuesday from Buikwe district.

Baganzi added that Odongo was transferred to Dokolo central police station where he is being held as investigation against him continues. The suspect has been charged with aggravated defilement.
