Man arrested for conning boda boda riders in Apac

Police of Apac district have arrested a 34 year old man over allegation of extorting money from Boda-boda riders under the guise of helping them process riding permits.

Hilary Otim who has been masquerading as a staff of King David Driving School in Kaberamadio district was arrested by the District Police Commander of Apac at the mayors’ garden in Apac municipality from where he was found registering the boda-boda riders.

By the time of his arrest, Otim had already collected 2 million shillings from the unsuspecting boda-boda riders.

Isaac Otim a mechanic operating in Welo Cell, Atik Division, Fellix Omugu a resident of Teboke, Peter Alinyo from Ibuje Town Council are among people allegedly conned by Otim.

Apac Resident District Commissioner, George Abudul confirmed Otim’s arrest, warning people to desist from fraudulent acts.
