Update: Unclaimed body washed away by River Nile

Leaders of Oyam district led by the Resident District Commissioner Williams Komakech today discovered that unclaimed body of unidentified man that had been cited on River Nile has been washed away.

Kamdini Sub County LCIII chairman Terence Omonya said the body was discovered by fishermen on Sunday who reported the matter to Kamadini Police Station but up to today it had not yet been picked up by police.

He said they suspect that the man could have been killed by unknown assailants who dumped his body in the river.

Following the incident, Oyam RDC Williams Komakech and other district leaders this morning visited areas along River Nile where the body was cited, but found when it had been carried away by running water.

Komakech asked whoever has a missing relative to report to police as this could be the body of the missing person.
