Lira Town College student collapses to death

Students of Lira Town College in Lira city were last even left in grief after one of their colleagues collapsed and died while playing Rugby at the school playgrounds.

Adongo Juliet Anifa, 19, was pronounced dead at Lira Diagnostic Center which is adjacent to the school.

The school head teacher, Sophie Rose Acen told Voice of Lango FM that management of the school has been informed about the sadden incident.

Herbert Apita who is a board member of Lira Town College said the body of Adong was taken to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem.

Apita said the parents of the student had already been informed about the tragic incident.

The incident comes a few days after another student of the school was shot on the leg by a private security guard.

According to north Kyoga region police spokesperson Patrick Jimmy Okema, Odom Francis a security guard attached to SGA Security Company on Tuesday at around 7pm returned to Lira Town College, Akello Rebecca a 19 year old student reported to be his lover but was attacked by a group of students who were escaping from school and in the process he shot one of them identified as Odongo Morris, 22.

Odongo is currently admitted at Lira regional referral hospital, while Akello and Odom are being held at Lira central police station.
