He noted that the President, in coordination with the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, initiated the establishment of the office to bring immigration services closer to the people of Lango sub-region.

Emmanuel Ecun, the Lango Regional Immigration Officer, said the office is responsible for issuing passports, work permits, and other immigration documents.

He expressed concern over the common habit of people seeking health care, education, or employment abroad, who often wait until the last minute to process their travel documents.

The Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control serves both the Lango and Teso sub-regions.
