One dead, five injured in Kibaale road accident

One person has been confirmed dead, while five others sustained serious injuries in a Toyota Wish accident that occurred a few meters from Kahyoro Trading Center in Bwamiramira subcounty, along the Kibaale-Kyebando road in Kibaale district.

The tragic accident happened on Saturday on Kahyoro Hill when the Toyota Wish, carrying mourners from Kikaada village, Bwamiramira subcounty, registration number UAX 026D, suffered brake failure, veered off the road, and overturned, killing one person on the spot.

By press time, the identities of the deceased and the injured, who were rushed to Kibaale Health Center IV, had not yet been established.

Reports indicate that the mourners were returning home to Kiboijana village in Birembo subcounty, Kakumiro district.

Eyewitnesses at the scene attributed the accident to brake failure while descending Kahyoro Hill.

By press time, Kibaale traffic police had arrived at the scene and transported the body to Kibaale Health Center IV mortuary. However, they declined to speak to reporters.
