Unknown assailants have strangled a Carpenter attached to GMH Carpentry and Joinery Workshop in Kizizi cell, Karuguuza town, Kibaale town council, in Kibaale district.
Joseph Ssaazi, the Kibaale town council LC3 Chairperson, identified the deceased as 38-year-old God Sekasi, a resident of Rwebyayi cell in West division, Mubende municipality.
Ssaazi stated that the assailants reportedly strangled Sekasi on Thursday night, leaving his body in a corridor along Oliver Street in Karuguuza town.
It is alleged that Sekasi was intoxicated at the time of his death. Some sources claim that he had been involved in a sexual relationship with a married woman, whose name is being withheld.
Ssaazi expressed deep concern over the rising criminality in Kibaale town council, attributing the trend to the lack of routine police patrols.
Police officials from Kibaale Police Station, led by Nobert Ochom, the CID officer for Kibaale, visited the scene, conducted an autopsy, and transported the body to Kibaale Health Centre IV Mortuary. Investigations are ongoing.
However, the police declined to comment on the murder.
