The Kibaale Woman Member of Parliament, Noeline Kisembo Basemera, has advised residents in Nyamarwa parish, Nyamarwa subcounty, to be cautious when mortgaging their land titles to moneylenders.
Her advice comes as the Uganda Land Commission is currently conducting a land titling exercise for 3 square miles covering three villages in Nyamarwa subcounty, Kibaale district, where over 800 households are expected to benefit.
It was noted that the government compensated the absentee landlord of Block 330, Plot 3, covering villages of Nyamarwa, Kasaka and Kyamugema all in Nyamarwa subcounty, measuring 2,304 acres.
MP Basemera addressed the residents of Kasaka and Kyamugema villages yesterday, as they are the beneficiaries of the ongoing exercise.
MP Noeline Basemera also donated 2.2 million shillings to nine women’s communities and two Muslim communities, with each village receiving 200,000 shillings to buy piglets and goats for Muslims.
The villages visited by the legislator include, Kameme, Kahanami, Nyamarwa, Kasaka, Kyamugema, Masenge, Bubamba, Mumakoko, Muntabo, Kyakatwanga town mosque and Ijugirwa Masijid Taqua.
Speaking with delighted residents, including local leaders, they welcomed the project and pledged their support for MP Basemera in the 2026 general elections.
