Procurement process for Kibaale industrial park land in final stages

Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has called on Kibaale district Local Government authorities to fast-track the procurement process for the land that has been acquired for the establishment of an industrial park and storage facilities for farmers to store their agricultural products in Kibaale.
He made the remarks on Sunday during his inspection of the 100 acres of land secured in Kikuuba village, Mugarama subcounty, Kibaale district, which is owned by businessman Joseph Tinka.
During the visit, the Kibaale Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), John Katotoroma, briefed Minister Kasaija, who is also the MP for Buyanja, stating that the district has already made a partial payment of over shs800m and is in the final stages of transferring the land title into the district’s name.
It should be noted that Minister Kasaija lobbied for government funding for the establishment of the industrial park, and work on the project will soon begin once the land is secured, with the aim of creating over 500 jobs.
On this note, Minister Kasaija urged residents of Kibaale and neighbouring districts to prepare to take advantage of the job opportunities that will arise with the establishment of the industrial park.
In his remarks, Godfrey Muhonge Kasanga, the Kibaale District LCV Chairperson, praised Minister Kasaija for his exemplary leadership and tireless efforts in lobbying for more projects in Kibaale, describing him as the best MP Buyanja County should treasure for improved service delivery.
Joseph Tinka, the owner of the land, said this is an opportunity that everyone should embrace and welcome for the development of Kibaale.
Led by Tadeo Magezi, the LC3 Chairperson of Mugarama subcounty, the local residents, who praised Minister Kasaija for his dedication as a leader, are optimistic that the establishment of the industrial park will create numerous opportunities and markets to boost agriculture.
The event was also attended by Leonard Semate, the District Commercial Officer, and Kibaale NRM Chairperson Fred Matovu, among others.
