62-year-old Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Wife Over Infidelity Allegations in Kibaale

Police in Kibaale District are holding a 62-year old man accused of murdering his wife following a domestic dispute linked to alleged infidelity in Muhangi village in Bubango Sub County.

The suspect, Robert Byamukama, a resident of the same area, allegedly clobbered his wife, Joyrace Natukunda aged 45, on Sunday reportedly using an axe thereafter fled their home.

The children of the deceased whose names have been concealed say their parents have for several time been heating up, ending in quarrels whenever Byamukama sold pieces of land and that the latest misunderstanding resulted from their father’s orders that he was intending to sell off their land in Muhangi so that they can shift to another place.

However, untrusted sources say Byamukama has for long been accusing his wife of engaging in extra marital love affairs with different men.

Led by the village chairperson of Muhangi Village, Joseph Bukenya note that the duo has been embroiled in routine disagreements mostly on land related issues.

Robert Byamukama was intercepted and arrested in Kibyasi village, Bubango Sub County as he attempted to flee and he is currently detained at Kibaale Central Police Station.
