Angry mob chops suspected goat thief to death, sets body ablaze in Kibaale

An angry mob of residents have reportedly chopped a suspected thief into pieces to death and set his body ablaze after intercepting him with a stolen goat in Rwaibuuza cell, Nyamarunda Town council, Kibaale district.
The deceased is identified only as Akugizibwe.
He was with another unidentified suspected thief who has since fled into hiding and they were ferrying the stolen on a Bajaj motorcycle Reg Number UFT 980K belonging to one Tadeo a business man in Imara Mugarama Sub County.
Angry residents who were found at the scene say that Akugizibwe has for long been suspected of being a notorious thief.
Anthony Webye, the village chairperson of Rwaibuuza cell in Nyamarunda Town Council has however condemned the act of mob justice urging residents to always hand such criminals to authorities for the law to take its course.
By press time officers from Kibaale Police led by Enock Kaleeba, the Kibaale CID officer had reached at the scene and collected the remains of the deceased, stolen goat and remains of motorcycle.
