Kibaale LC5 Chairperson Orders Wetland Encroachers to Vacate or Face Arrest

Kibaale District LC5 Chairperson, Godfrey Muhonge Kasanga, has directed all wetland encroachers across the district to vacate immediately or face arrest by the relevant authorities.

Muhonge issued the directive on Monday while addressing district stakeholders, including district councilors, LC3 chairpersons, heads of departments and sections, sub-county and parish chiefs, during a stakeholders’ meeting on wetland management.

In his remarks, Kibaale RDC Stephen Byaruhanga Mfashingabo, asked parish chiefs play an active role in implementing government programs stating that anyone found encroaching on wetlands will be arrested.

Stakeholders who attended the meeting commended the district leadership for organizing the engagement pledging to continue sensitizing communities on the importance of protecting the environment.
