Heavy Rains Leave Residents Counting Losses in Kibaale

Residents of Kanoga- Kitoma Village in Matale Sub-county, Kibaale District, are counting losses after heavy rains accompanied by strong winds damaged houses and destroyed food crops.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when heavy rains swept through the area, leaving four houses unroofed and several crops destroyed.

Among the affected crops are bananas, maize and beans, leaving families worried about food security and their livelihoods.

The affected residents are calling on the government and local leaders to intervene and provide relief support to help them survive with the losses and recover their damaged property.

Geoffrey Mwanje, the Kitoma Village Chairperson, sympathized with residents, urging them to embrace environmental conservation through tree planting.

Patrick Abigaba, commonly known as Abwooli Balancer, says efforts are underway at the sub-county level to submit the report to relevant authorities for a quick response and support.
