Kibaale district council approves over Shs26B budget for the year 2024/2025

Kibaale district councilors have unanimously approved the next fiscal year 2024/2025 budget estimates worth over 26.2 billion shillings with education taking the lion’s share of over 11.2 billion shillings.

The budget was approved on Tuesday during the council sitting chaired by the district speaker Peter Lugumba where Health has been allocated over Shs6.1billion, administration over Shs3.3billion, production and marketing over Shs3.2billion respectively, roads and engineering over Shs2.2 billion and water over Shs1.2billion among others.

The district plans to collect over 644 million shillings as local raised revenue, expecting over 12.4 billion shillings from discretionary government transfers and 12.3 billion shillings as Conditional government transfers.

It also expects over 409 million shillings from other government transfers and 430 million shillings from external financing.

Presenting the budget approval motion, Charles Businge, the district committee chairperson for finance, planning, administration and investment says the budget is pro people.

Addressing the council, John Katotoroma the CAO Kibaale hails the councilors for approving the next fiscal year’s budget hoping for socio-economic transformation.

In his remarks, Godwin Angalia Kasigwa, the RDC Kibaale equally commended the district council for the even distribution of the resources in the budget.
