Police Arrests Children Over Father’s Murder in Kibaale

Police in Kibaale are holding two children in connection to the death of their biological father, a retired police officer.

The suspects are Sekabiito Yozefati 37 a son and Yowanina Nabukenya a daughter, all residents of Kakidamu Trading Center in Nkondo Village, Matale Sub County, Kibaale district. 

They are accused of murdering their 87-year old father Yozefu Kanyemera whom they allegedly cut several times and stabbed in the stomach at around 12am on Wednesday following land misunderstandings.

The area LCI Chairperson, Omuhereza Bwemi together with residents have revealed that the deceased has for long been feuding over 40 acres land and the matters are in courts of law with his sons and daughters.

Detectives from Kibaale police reached the crime scene on Wednesday morning with a sniffer dog leading to the arrest of the duo but later also arrested the third suspect Ronald Asiimwe the village defense secretary to help the in investigations after he was found with blood stains on his trouser. 

However, other suspects including Rukidi Tadeo, Jane Naluyenje, and Christine Nakabiito all biological children of the deceased are currently on run following the incident.

Lydia Katusabe the acting LC3 chairperson for Matale Sub County has condemned the gruesome act.

Kanyemera served as a police officer who safeguarded Queen Elizabeth, later served as DPC for Mubende district in 1970’s.

Meanwhile Kibaale District Police Commander Moses Kitamarike declined to comment on the matter by the time we filed this story.
