Excitement as Minister Kasaija Donates Boat Worth shs36M to residents at River Muzizi in Nyamarunda

Finance Minister, Matia Kasaija has donated a modernized boat worth 36 million shillings to the people of Muziizi village in Nyamarunda Sub County, Kibaale district to boost trade relations between Kibaale and Kyenjojo districts on River Muzizi.

The yellow boat branded with the names of Hon. Kasaija touched the waters of river Muzizi on Sunday amidst cheers from residents at a handover function in Bujogoro village, Nyamarunda Sub County, Kibaale District.

Kasaija who is also the MP Buyanja Constituency has asked the residents of Muzizi to send their children to their respective schools and that the boat will be cost free to all users as it is also expected to boost economic activities cross over.

Kasaija who was flanked by different leaders asked the residents to own it so that it can be well maintained and they should also avoid overloading.  

Phillips Bikora, the district councilor and Erasmus Ndinaruhanga the LC3 chairperson Nyamarunda Sub County say the modern boat donation to the people of Muziizi is a very big relief because residents have been suffering to cross the waters.

Filled with joy residents from Muziizi village and those from Igunga, Kandama in Kyenjojo district offloaded the modern boat from the carrier up to the waters as they chanted slogans praising Minister Kasaija.

They note that the risks and high costs they have been going through to cross the waters with canoes are now no more, hailing Minister Kasaija for minding about the grass root citizens.
