Oyam district procures motorcycles for education and health secretaries

Oyam District Local Government has procured two brand new motorcycles in an effort to improve monitoring services in the district.

The UG Yamaha motorcycles valued at Shs 20 million were procured using the fund from DDEG and they are meant to facilitate the movement of the secretaries of health and that of education in the district.

Beatrice Hellen Okello, the secretary for education in Oyam Distrct Local Government revealed she has have been facing challenges of transport since they did not have motorcycles.

She noted that the motorcycles have come at the right time when the district is intending to improve on performance which need her to do enough monitoring.

Betty Owani, the Secretary for Health who also received the motorcycle hailed the Oyam District Local Government for the efforts it has put to bailed them out from transport challenges. She is optimistic that her officers are now going to reach the health facilities in the district.

Benson Dila Oyuku, the district chairman, cautioned the users against misusing the motorcycles for personal use.
