Oyam North Consituency by-election take center stage.

Nine Day to Oyam North By-election polling, souring for votes by candidates has taken center stage with all receiving a resounding welcome from voters.

In day 6 of campaign trail, NRM flag bearer in the Oyam North County by-election rallies supporters in Otwal Sub-county. 

Samuel Engola Okello was accompanied by senior party officials that include the Government Chief Whip, Hamson Obua, Rosemary Seninde (Director for Mobilization), MPs  among other leaders.

Engola says once elected, he will present the request of Otwal residents for pipe water and electricity to boost industrialization.

Meanwhile Dr Eunice Apio Otuku, the flag bearer of Uganda people’s congress party on Tuesday continued her campaign trail, visiting several parishes in Abok Sub County in her pursuit of votes.

Speaking during a campaign event in Abok Sub County, the UPC party president, Jimmy James Michael Akena expressed confidence in their candidate, Eunice Apio Otuku, and claimed that the UPC will lead in the race.

At Forum for Democratic Change camp, Brian Ogutu, the party District Chair speaking to the press at the sideline of their rally in Acaba Sub County says they are hopeful of winning the Oyam North By-election.

The Oyam County North Parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of the former MP, Col. (Ret.) Charles Okello Engola on May 2, 2023. He was shot dead by his bodyguard.
