Oyam District NRM Administrator and Secretary, Bismarck Isaac Olang, has rallied residents across the Lango sub-region to turn out in large numbers for the 52nd birthday run of Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba. The event, scheduled for tomorrow in Lira City, is being described as a symbol of unity and hope for Uganda.
In his speech, Olang emphasized that the celebration is not about politics but about honoring Gen. Muhoozi’s distinguished trust in the army and the nation. He explained that the theme, Run for Change, Be the Challenge, reflects the call for every citizen to become an agent of positive change in their communities.
The “52 MK Run for Lango” will begin at 6:30 AM from the Mayor’s Garden, covering a 10-kilometer route through Kampala Road, Cathedral Road, Odokomit, Juba Road, Uhuru Bar roundabout, and back via Main Street to the Mayor’s Garden. Organizers expect between 2,000 and 6,000 participants.
Olang stressed that the run transcends party politics, noting that supporters from UPC and FDC have also pledged to join. “This event is not about the NRM alone,” he said. “Since General Muhoozi was appointed CDF, corruption in the army has been dealt with decisively, which is why even opposition supporters want to stand with him.”
He further highlighted that the run is non-political, non-religious, and free of charge, with all kits provided by Health Minister and Woman MP for Lira City, Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero.
Concluding his remarks, Olang called on all people from Lango to turn up in large numbers to show the world that Uganda is a peaceful country united under the leadership of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
