Omoro District Releases 2026 PLE Mock Results, Decries Poor Performance

Omoro District has officially released the 2026 PLE Mock results for 3,243 candidates, with leaders raising alarm over poor performance and declining education standards.

The results were officially declared by District Chairperson Hon. Okot Andrew Obibi at Opit Mission Hall.

According to the report, 48.4% of candidates were in Division U, while Division I was 1.8%, Division II 16.9%, Division III 17.1%, Division IV 16.9%, and Division X 13%.

In subjects, Science was best performed at 47.18%, followed by English at 41.6%, Social Studies at 38%, while Mathematics was the worst at 29.4%.

The report shows a declining trend from Set One, through Pre-Mock to the final Mock, raising concern about learners’ preparedness for final PLE.

The District Inspector of Schools, Mr. Mwaka Gasper, who represented the DEO, announced that Term III will start on Monday, September 14, 2026, and will run for 82 days. He urged headteachers to take charge of academic improvement.

The Secretary for Social and Community-Based Services, Hon. Chris Woo, commended the education department for the report and challenged headteachers to identify weaknesses and work hard to fix them.

Assistant RDC Mr. Kumagum Patrick reminded teachers of their vital role in development, urged unity and hard work, and warned against strikes over salary. He also warned against corruption and falsification of pupil enrollment, saying culprits risk arrest.

Chairperson of Omoro District Hon. Okot Obibi said the district has an integrity mechanism to fight corruption and warned that some officials may be summoned. He decried the falling standards in Omoro and negative attitude of some parents towards education, unlike in the past when Acholi sub-region valued education highly.

He pledged to work with stakeholders to reverse the decline, warned against malice, sabotage and conflicts in schools, and emphasized that teaching must start on day one of Term III. He said he will personally monitor schools on the opening day.

Hon. Obibi warned against teacher absenteeism and asked headteachers to enforce discipline. He also commended private schools for their good performance in the mocks.

Stakeholders resolved to strengthen supervision, improve teacher commitment, reduce absenteeism, give special support to Mathematics, and take collective action before final PLE.
