MP Dr. Eunice Apio donates cement to support church construction

Oyam North Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Eunice Apio Otuku, has donated 50 bags of cement worth UGX 1.6 million to St. John the Baptist Awelobutoryo Catholic Church, fulfilling her pledge to support the unfinished construction of the church. This donation is part of her manifesto to share resources with the community, particularly in supporting churches, mosques, VSLA groups, education, and health sectors.

Representing Dr. Eunice Apio Otuku at Awelobutoryo Catholic Chapel, Benard Ojok Elwa, a retired Senior Community Development Officer (CDO), emphasised the importance of utilising the donated cement effectively. He also called on the people of Oyam North to stand with Dr. Apio in the 2026 general election, ensuring her re-election to continue serving the community and lobbying for more projects

Catechist Joel Nancy Ebong of St. John the Baptist Awelobutoryo expressed gratitude for the donation and appealed for additional support from other politicians and well-wishers to help complete the church construction.

Wacha Tommy, a prominent businessman in Oyam town council who also serves as the Vice Chairperson of the business community in the council, commended Dr. Apio for her commitment to community development. He pledged his support for her, stating that he is ready to elect leaders who work for the people rather than political parties.

Betty Odoki and Imat Mata, representing Christians of St. John the Baptist Awelobutoryo, appreciated Dr. Apio’s generosity and pledged their support for her victory in the forthcoming 2026 general election. They acknowledged her unwavering commitment to the development of the community.

Dr. Eunice Apio Otuku, the Member of Parliament for Oyam North, recently launched an empowerment project targeting vulnerable youths, women, the elderly, and clergy from all denominations across the constituency.
