Speaking to the press after the meeting, Hon. Santa Alum, the Chairperson of the District Road Committee, said that they had inspected the roads that the district committee has worked on.

She assured the people of Oyam that, according to the monitoring, the roads they have worked on are in good condition, with only a few areas needing culverts to be installed.

However, Alum mentioned that, as Oyam is a large district, there are several challenges, such as inadequate road equipment and limited funding from the central government, which must be distributed across the two constituencies.

Alum stated that the district roads committee has resolved to work on some roads already included in the programme, even though the necessary funds are not yet available. These roads include the Minakulu to Opuk road, Teopobo to Aminomir, and others.

Addressing the press, Hon. Benson Walter Dilla Oyuku, the Vice Chairperson of the District Road Committee and District Chairperson, stated that during their monitoring, they realised that in the last financial year, one billion shillings were used to work on 103 kilometres of roads out of the 557 kilometres in Oyam district.

He added that the geographical coverage and the length of roads in Oyam are extensive and promised that they plan to work on over 200 kilometres of roads before the end of this year.

Speaking to the press, Engineer George Okite Okeng highlighted some of the roads they have worked on over the past three financial years in Oyam district.
