Hon. Walter Atoo, the LC5 councillor for Ngai sub county, and Phillips Ogile, the LC3 chairman of Abok sub county, have reconciled after a prolonged period of public disputes on social media. The two had been widely known for their heated exchanges on WhatsApp groups.
However, during a thanksgiving prayer on Sunday at the home of Oyam’s Secretary of Education, Hellen Beatrice Auma Okello, in Ngai trading centre, the two politicians agreed to set aside their differences and collaborate for the betterment of their communities.
Walter Atoo explained that their conflict originated when Ogile criticised him for not advocating for the rehabilitation of a poor road, an issue that was beyond the district’s capacity to address.
Ogile, on the other hand, stated that their disagreements were intended to bring about positive change and urged fellow politicians not to let politics create divisions among them.
Benson Dila, the LC5 chairperson of Oyam district, encouraged the two politicians, as well as others, to approach politics with love.
